Poetry Appreciation and Writers’ Group

Members of the AAUW LB Poetry Appreciation interest group listened to original and specially selected poetry read aloud at their August meeting. Noelle Driscoll-McCredie sang the lyrics of Wordsworth’s poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”. Newly published poets, Kas Satori shared Love, a poetry journal and Carol Santell read poems from Canvas of Memories: A Journey in Time, her upcoming memoir soon to be on Amazon.

The Poetry Appreciation and Writers’ Group welcomes new members at any time. The group meets at members’ homes every other month (even months). In advance, they choose a topic for the meeting.  Examples are World of Work, Women Poets, and Holiday Poems. To see what the topic of the month is, refer to the Calendar page. For the Zoom link, please contact Poetry Appreciation chair Karen Dennis.

We meet to share our writings
our own creations
and encourage each other with style,
with wording,
with the subject at hand.
We always look forward and usually everyone turns out for our meetings.
