Welcome to the Laguna Beach CA Branch of AAUW

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a nationwide network of more than 170,000 members and supporters, 1,000 branches, and 800 college/university institution partners. The mission of AAUW is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.  Our active Laguna Beach branch encourages girls and women from the elementary through college level to pursue education, with scholarships being a key component of our outreach programs.  The branch was founded in 1967 and includes over 150 residents of Laguna Beach and surrounding communities.  Please explore our website to discover more of what we do and consider joining us!

Our branch has many groups which focus on topics of interest to women. These small groups bring members together for discussions, socializing, tours and the formation of long-term friendships. Currently, the branch has a Poetry Appreciation & Writers group, a Movie group and three Book Groups. Additionally, a group of members and community volunteers help Laguna Beach El Morro Elementary School students in an afterschool tutoring program called The Learning Club. Descriptions of these activities can be found in the Activities section of this website and schedules are posted in the Calendar Section.
